Tynningö
FACTS ABOUT TYNNINGÖ
Tynningö has approx. 630 propertier that are built on. Around 400 people are registered on the island, but around 600 live here more or less permanently. In the summer, there are almost 3,000 of us who live on the island.

There are nice excursion destinations such as Tynningö Klack, Tynningö's highest point with a wide view of the archipelago, about 50 meters above sea level. Tynningö Klack is close to the car ferry.
There is now a landscaped path up the mountain where there are simple benches and a barbecue area. The view is majestic!
Since 2022, there is a small 24-hour grocery store on the island. It is fully automatic, you buy the food with an appon your phone. For people without Swedish ID, it might be tricky. You can try to email or call the number showed in the picture, to ge help to create your account.
Otherwise, the big grocery shop is in Gustavsberg, not on Tynningö island. It is 7 km from the car-ferry. It is easy to go there with a car, takes about 25 minutes including the car-ferry, but more complex without car (bus, car-ferry, bus).
Every day during the summer,
until 13 august, the bakery car will be outside Tynningö LIFVS
between 8.00 am to 03.45 pm
There is a nice sports field on Tynningö, with both a soccer field, a tennis court, a padel court and a pétanque court. An active sports association organizes running competitions, swimming schools and other activities. To become a member and thus be able to use the facilities, contact Tynningö IF.
A free outdoor gym is available at Bygdegården.
Located on Tynningö is the lake Stora Maren. Here you will find the Myrholmsmaren swimming area with jetties, toilet, tables and benches, barbecue area and sandy beach. The swimming area is looked after by Tynningö IF, who also hold a swimming school during the summer.
Myrholmsmaren is 8 minutes walk from our house.
Just close to our garden you find Ormungens boat jetty. Fro the jetty it is possibleto swim in sea. It is deep and there is a ladder to go up and down.
If you use taxiboat from Vaxholm, they could drive you to this jetty.
Tynningö, with its roughly 7 km long, narrow island, offers easy strolls among stately houses, cute holiday homes and with good opportunities for swimming. The walk here is largely on smaller roads, but in the central part of the island the path leads away from buildings and into dense forest.
There is a marked trail around the island - Tynningö runt - which was recently built. The trail markings are new and there are maps posted in most places.
USE OUR EQUIPMENT
We have canoes, life jackets and bicycles to borrow. There are also outdoor games, such as boules and badminton to play in our garden. Next to our garden is a boat jetty. There is a ladder for swimming in the sea.
With our canoe you can paddle to Getfoten. If you have access to your own smaller boat, you can make more excursions.
With our canoe you can paddle to Getfoten. There you find the testaurant Getfotens Sjökrog. Getfoten's famous sauna is a unique experience in itself. With its panoramic window, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Stockholm archipelago. The sauna is very popular, so we recommend that you book well in advance.

TYNNINGÖ
Tynningö is characterized by beautiful nature, bicycle- and walking-friendly roads. There are nice excursion destinations such as Tynningö Klack, with a view of the Stockholm archipelago.
TOURIST INFORMATION
Vaxholm, a small village with restaurants, café, gaöleries and small boutiques is redommended to visit. The short distance to Stockholm makes it possible to also visit the capital.

Check in can be done after 3:00 pm.
Check out is done before 11.00 am
Our house rules are based on each guest cleaning up after themselves and leaving the house in good condition to the next guests.
